Do you need prayer for protection? You are not alone. We all need prayer sometimes, and a prayer of protection is one that we should be saying every day. In this blog post, we will go through the following prayer:
This prayer can be said at any time during the day to ask for help from God in protecting us from danger–both spiritually and physically. When you say this prayer, remember that God hears your requests and protects you always.
“God in heaven, please protect me from any and all harm. Shield me with the power of your will. I place this prayer under your protection. Please send angels to watch over me and guide my footsteps so that I may be safe always. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
Prayer is a way to connect with God and ask for guidance, protection, and forgiveness. We may feel disconnected from God at times, but prayer brings us back to Him.
This prayer can be used as a prayer for protection and guidance:
“Dear Heavenly Father, I know that I am imperfect and always do my best to help others and myself. Please guide me down the right path so that I may become more like You each day. Please protect me from evil forces that would do harm to my body or soul. Please watch over my family members who are suffering in pain or ill health. Please bless me with my daily bread so that I never go without food on this earth. Amen.”
In some religions, prayer is considered a powerful force for protecting one from adversity.
In some beliefs, prayer can ward off evil spirits as well as turning away bad luck. In the Roman Catholic tradition, prayer to St. Joseph is often used as a prayer of protection because he was known for securing favor and deflecting danger wherever he resided, such as in houses and travel.
The following prayer may be said before entering potentially dangerous circumstances:
“Oh my Saint Joseph please secure me and protect me from all danger and misfortune.”
Saint Joseph’s prayer is also prayed when putting oneself or others at risk of harm. Other examples of prayers asking for protection include Psalm 121 recited by Catholics before sleep and prayer #271 from the “Prayer Book of Saint Francis,” which is recited to ward off evil influences.
Three verses from scripture ( Matthew 21:22 ; John 14:13-14 ; and Isaiah 55:8 ) make it clear that we should not only pray, but also ask. My scripture study has taught me many things about prayer; however, I don’t think there is any better advice than the advice given by Elder Richard G. Scott :
“I promise that as you pray with sincerity and full purpose of heart, you will be led to people and circumstances that can change your life! …When solutions seem beyond reach, put your trust in God…and watch miracles unfold.” ( Richard G. Scott, “Faith Is a Choice,” Ensign, Nov. 2001)
Before starting your day or morning routine, give yourself a moment to vocalize this morning prayer for protection.
If you practice it before every morning ritual, it will be perfect. You can even include the tone of voice “in all seriousness” if you want to create the most impact possible.

We pray that you will shelter and protect us from any evil or negative force which would seek to do harm unto us.”

You can also include any personal elements in your morning prayers for protection that you feel will add to their relevance. By using words from the Holy Bible within morning prayers for protection, you create a stronger foundation for yourself by connecting to a higher power.
Protection is a thing that many of us desire and need on multiple levels.
We want to be protected from the adverse effects of our own sins, we want to be protected from outside threats such as sickness or accidents, or natural disasters, and we want to be protected from those who wish us ill.

Before we begin evening prayer tonight, let us remember that Jesus is our savior, and he died for our sins (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

“Heavenly Father, we come to you praising your holy name. We thank you for giving us another day and ask for forgiveness of any ills we may have committed during the day or in thought. We know that ills come from the antichrist and his followers, and we put all our faith and trust in you, Lord to protect us from harm done by them. Please bless this home, each member within it, and all those who enter its doors with peace this night. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen” (Matthew 6:9-15).
